This a first printing of the UK first edition as indicated by the “This first hardcover edition published in Great Britain 1989 by Severn House Publishers Ltd” statement with no subsequent printings/impressions mentioned. Very sharp clean black boards with gold blocking to spine, white endpapers. A lovely square standing, clearly unread copy. Text block is clean marred only by a little of the common age discolouration (I say common but I have only ever seen three copies – all like this one). A beautiful book and the DJ is pretty nice too. The lower rear flap fold tip is ever so slightly rubbed, head of spine ever so slightly creased and the spine itself is somewhat sun faded. The back panel shows a little light surface rubbing, £11.95 price intact on front flap. Originally published in the USA as a paperback original under the title Quintana Roo this edition is the first and only hardback and, like many Severn House titles, extraordinarily scarce given the small print run and that most copies ended up in the library system. Finding unread copies like this is almost impossible these days. A cracking copy for the Brandner collector.
