The Brain Eaters UK First Edition

£ 39.95

Gary Brandner. The Brain Eaters. Severn House 1992. First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good. This a first printing of the UK first hard cover edition as indicated by the “This first hardcover edition published in Great Britain 1992 by Severn House Publishers Ltd” statement with no subsequent printings/impressions mentioned. Clean black boards with gold blocking to spine, white endpapers. Upper front and rear and lower rear corner tips ever so slightly blunted, head and tail of spine somewhat flattened/softened. The book stands very square and is clearly an unread copy. Internally the book block is clean and bright. On careful inspection the upper edge is just a little soiled (dusty) and there is a faint mark towards the bottom of the fore edge. The DJ is a little spine faded with some creasing/rubbing at the head/tail; the tips of the front flap fold are slightly rubbed and the tips of the rear flap fold slightly chipped; front panel shows only very light edge rubbing; back panel is creased along the top edge and shows some pressure marks; both front and rear panels are show light surface rubbing to the gloss. £12.99 price is intact on front flap. A very scarce edition given the small print run and that most copies ended up in the library system. Okay so the DJ isn’t the best but it presents very well on the shelf and the book itself is very decent and finding unread copies is almost impossible these days. I would argue perfectly acceptable for most collectors of modern/horror first editions. REFC71
