Three volumes, each first printings of the UK first editions (paperback originals) as indicated by the “First published in Great Britain by Sphere Books Ltd 1984” statement in each volume with no further printings mentioned. Each volume with the original first state surreal distorted pictorial cover (later issued with a more traditional artwork cover yet no mention of a reprint). Volume 1 has one fine reading crease to spine, very light edge wear to spine ends, faint crease to bottom right corner of front panel. Internally text block is clean with no PO markings, store stamps etc. Volume 2 has a flat uncreased spine, small crease to upper left corner of rear cover. Internally text block is clean with no PO markings, store stamps etc. Volume 3 has a flat uncreased spine, upper right corner tip of front panel slightly rubbed and a bump/closed tear to the upper left at the spine hinge with associated creasing. Internally text block is clean with no PO markings, store stamps etc. Each volume is somewhat age discoloured as common but these are uncommon in the first state covers and this is not a bad set by any means.
