Shaun Hutson. Slugs. W H Allen 1983. First edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine / Very Good Plus. This a first printing of the UK first edition as indicated by the 1983 date on the title page and the lack of any reprint information on the copyright page. Clean black boards with silver gilt to the spine. Very sharp but for a minor bump to the lower right corner tip. Book still feels pretty tight (likely very carefully read). Tail of spine slightly flattened. Text block is clean though somewhat age discoloured - I would say "as common" for a book that is over thirty years old but this one is so rare I have little to compare it too! DJ presents very well in mylar cover. Some light edge creasing evident, tail of spine a little rubbed, some surface rubbing. The silver lettering is pretty much flawless. Front flap has been price clipped and a £10.95 W H Allen price sticker affixed. Must have been selling really well if they put the price up! As far as I am aware this is the only non library copy of this title for sale on the internet (ex library copies are listed around the £100 mark when they appear). As my old pal Roy Robbins would say - scarce as hens teeth. If you are a Shaun Hutson collector - and if not why not - then this book presents an opportunity not to be missed.
