This a\nfirst printing of the UK first edition (paperback original) as\nindicated by the \u201c A New English Library Original Publication 1982\u201d\nand \u201cFirst NEL paperback edition May 1982\u201d statements with no\nsubsequent printings mentioned. Book has a slight lean, the spine\nshowing one very faint reading crease, lightly rubbed at the head and\ntail, but feels only partially read. Front cover clean and glossy\nshowing the most minor rubbing to the corner tips. Back cover same\nwith one light diagonal pressure mark. Internally appears clean but\nfor a previous sellers price pencilled on the prelim (can be erased\nbut I don\u2019t like to). Pages a little age discoloured as common.\nThis copy flat signed by the author in my presence. This a first printing of the UK first edition (paperback original) as indicated by the “ A New English Library Original Publication 1982” and “First NEL paperback edition May 1982” statements with no subsequent printings mentioned. Book has a slight lean, the spine showing one very faint reading crease, lightly rubbed at the head and tail, but feels only partially read. Front cover clean and glossy showing the most minor rubbing to the corner tips. Back cover same with one light diagonal pressure mark. Internally appears clean but for a previous sellers price pencilled on the prelim (can be erased but I don’t like to). Pages a little age discoloured as common. This copy flat signed by the author in my presence. Signed copies of this title are few and far between.
