Very Good.\nThis a first printing of the UK first edition (paperback original) as\nindicated by the \u201c A New English Library Original Publication 1982\u201d\nand \u201cFirst NEL paperback edition May 1982\u201d statements with no\nsubsequent printings mentioned. Appears to be an unread copy with\nflat spine showing just a touch of minor rubbing to the head and\ntail. Front cover clean with a small diagonal crease to the upper\nright corner and a fainter one to the lower right, one vertical\npressure mark. Back cover shows some light edge wear. Internally\nthere is a store stamp, deleted notation and previous sellers\npencilled price on the prelim otherwise it appears clean if a tad age\ndiscoloured. Upper edge a little soiled. This copy flat signed on the\ntitle page by the author in my presence. This a first printing of the UK first edition (paperback original) as indicated by the “ A New English Library Original Publication 1982” and “First NEL paperback edition May 1982” statements with no subsequent printings mentioned. Appears to be an unread copy with flat spine showing just a touch of minor rubbing to the head and tail. Front cover clean with a small diagonal crease to the upper right corner and a fainter one to the lower right, one vertical pressure mark. Back cover shows some light edge wear. Internally there is a store stamp, deleted notation and previous sellers pencilled price on the prelim otherwise it appears clean if a tad age discoloured. Upper edge a little soiled. This copy flat signed on the title page by the author in my presence. Signed copies of this edition are few and far between.
