Progeny UK 1st Hardback

Shaun Hutson. Progeny. Caffeine Nights 2020. First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine / Fine. This a first printing of the UK first hardback edition as indicated by the “Published by Caffeine Nights Publishing 2020” statement with no subsequent printings mentioned. Pictorial boards, white endpapers, head / tail bands and bound in red ribbon bookmark. I am not a fan of the material used to cover the boards on these Caffeine Nights books. It looks and feels great when brand new but is very prone to marking / rubbing. Tail of spine shows some rubbing at the hinges, boards show a few minor handling marks. A nice square standing copy appearing to have been very gently read. Internally clean with no signs of previous ownership, store / library stamps etc. Bottom edge of book block is somewhat discoloured. The DJ is very sharp showing only the most minor edge creasing. Note that Caffeine Nights did not print prices on their DJ’s when this was published. Overall a very decent example of an extraordinarily scare hardback – the follow up to Hutson’s notorious Spawn.
