Shaun Hutson. No Survivors. Robert Hale 1985. First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine / Very Good Minus. This a first printing of the UK First Edition as indicated by the “First published in Great Britain 1985” statement with no subsequent printings mentioned. It’s a tough one to grade for reasons which will become obvious. Black boards. Silver blocking to spine, white endpapers. Front board sharp & clean, spine sharp and clean showing just a touch of crunching to the tail of the spine, rear board sharp and clean but unfortunately it looks like it has been dropped and there is a 2mm x 10mm chunk missing from the upper left corner. The book itself stands square, likely carefully read, with a clean text block marred only by a little light soiling to the top edge. The front panel and the spine of the DJ are clean and bright with strong colours. The back panel is a little soiled. Both the front and rear flapfolds show loss to the upper tips, the rear one obviously associated with the loss to the rear board. The £9.95 price is intact on the front flap. So there is little doubt that this one has its faults but it is a super rare edition and it is NOT ex-library which most I have seen are (and that’s not many in twenty plus years to be honest). It has looked great on my shelf and I am sure it would look great on yours too!
