This an uncorrected proof of the US first edition and as with many Random House publications they try and confuse us by having a number line that begins with a 2! Flat uncreased spine with bright clean glossy covers. Internally clean and bright but for a touch of ghosting on the verso of the prelim (heavy ink used on the facing page). A lovely unread copy. Comes with a 20 page stapled booklet promoting the publication of the collection which contains the short story “Ashputtle” with an introductory note from the author. This pamphlet too is very fine with sharp clean covers, internally clean and bright. Hard to find this proof in such collectable condition and almost impossible with the bonus pamphlet.
