This a first printing of the UK first edition as indicated by the “First published 1983” statement with no subsequent printings mentioned. Sharp black boards show just a little very light soiling, gold blocking to spine, a little crunched at the tail. A tight square standing unread copy. Internally nice and clean. Text block just a little age discoloured and lightly soiled to the top edge. Rear pastedown a little offset. DJ not too shabby given its fragility. Spine a tad sun faded, very lightly creased at the tail, creased at the head with a couple of very minor chips. Both front and rear spine hinges show small closed tears at the top. Front panel clean and showing only very light edge creasing. Rear panel rubbed along the flap fold, some light surface rubbing and a little light edge creasing. £7.50 price intact on front flap. Overall a much better than average copy.
