Terrance Dicks. Doctor Who and the Armageddon Factor. W H Allen 1980. First Edition. Hard Cover. Ex-Library Good/Near Fine. This a first printing of the UK first hardback edition as indicated by the “W H Allen 1980” statement on the title page and the lack of any subsequent printings on the copyright page. Dark blue boards, gold blocking to spine, white endpapers. Head and tail of spine very lightly crunched. Front and rear boards very clean showing only the most minor edge wear. Book still stands pretty square and the binding is solid. Internally there is an aged tape strip to the left hand side of the front pastedown where ther is also a ticket pocket and previous seller pencilled notation. FEP has the remains of a library sticker to the top third. There is one library stamp to the copyright page and one to page 127. Remains of a library stamp to the lower edge of the text block. Unusually for a ex-library copy there are no missing pages and other than the faults mentioned it appears to be internally clean, if a little age discoloured. The DJ is very nice. Head of spine is very slightly creased, back panel shows a couple of faint creases and the odd insignificant mark. £3.95 price is intact on the front flap. So all in all this appears to be a library copy that wasn’t actually loaned out that much and presents very well on the shelf. Scarce and highly collectable especially given the wonderful condition of the DJ.
