Richard Laymon/Janet Lorimar. Descendants Of Eve. Lake Books 1989. First Edition. Hard Cover. Signed by Author. Fine/Fine. This a first printing of the US first edition of this Optima Large Print Edition Fastback Anthology as indicated by the 1.987654321 print line. Sharp clean dark grey boards with silver blocking to spine, white endpapers, head and tail bands. Tail of spine somewhat flattened and a light bump to the lower corner of the rear board otherwise book is nice and square possibly carefully read. Text block is clean internally showing just a little very light soiling to the edges. Previous sellers pencilled notation to the FEP (can be erased but I don’t like to). The DJ is equally nice marred only by a touch of spine fading, a minor rub to the tail and some light creasing to the lower rear corner. The front flap is not clipped but is unpriced as I understand all copies were. There were number of these Optima Large Print Editions published, all anthologies of Fastback & Double Fastback titles previously published in small paperback form by Fearon Education. This edition contains The Dollhouse by Janet Lorimar and The Lonely One, The Trap & Shootout At Joe’s all by Richard Laymon. It is almost impossible to find copies which haven’t been through the library system. This one hasn’t and is as nice a copy as you are likely to find and to cap it all this copy is also signed by Richard Laymon – no less than three times! (his signature appears on the individual title page of each of his stories). A quite remarkable find for the more industrious and well heeled Laymon collector. REFC1198
